Tipperary's legendary 2001 All-Ireland Senior Camogie champions will be honoured this Sunday, 9th August, at Croke Park as this year's Jubilee Team during the All-Ireland Camogie Finals.

The special recognition marks the 25th anniversary of one of the county's greatest sporting achievements, when Tipperary completed a historic three-in-a-row of All-Ireland titles. Supporters will have the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of this exceptional group as they return to Croke Park, where they created history in 2001.

Managed by Michael Cleary and captained by Cashel's Emily Hayden, Tipperary produced a display of skill, composure and clinical finishing to defeat Kilkenny by 4-13 to 1-06. The Premier County set the tone from the opening whistle with early points from Noelle Kennedy before two goals in the space of three devastating first-half minutes effectively put the game beyond Kilkenny's reach.

Fifteen-year-old Claire Grogan bagged the opening goal before Deirdre Hughes struck moments later and added a superb point to leave Tipp firmly in control. Eimear McDonnell added a third goal before half-time, giving Tipperary a commanding 3-06 to 0-04 lead at the break. The second half brought more of the same as Grogan added further scores, Kennedy continued to dictate proceedings and Hughes finished with a personal tally of 2-02. Although Kilkenny managed a late consolation goal, there was never any doubt that the O'Duffy Cup would remain in Tipperary for a third successive year.

The celebrations that day were made even more special by an extraordinary double triumph for the county. Earlier, Tipperary's junior team, captained by Portroe's Trish O'Halloran, captured the All-Ireland Junior Championship with victory over Offaly. Remarkably, eight members of that junior panel were also substitutes on the senior team, earning the unique distinction of winning two All-Ireland medals at Croke Park on the same day.

Twenty-five years later, the achievements of this remarkable group remain unmatched in Tipperary camogie. Their historic three-in-a-row secured their place among the county's greatest-ever teams, and it is fitting that they will once again take centre stage at Croke Park as supporters from across Ireland gather to celebrate the very best of camogie.
