A unique pairing a new champion the scene is set for what should be an exhilarating final in the County Camogie Grounds, the Ragg. Drom-Inch have been the standard bearers for the last 5 years. Thurles came close to defeating them in last year’s semi-final Clonoulty Rossmore made sure of it last Saturday after suffering the heartbreak of 4 previous final losses in a row. They will be favourites going into the County Camogie Grounds tomorrow with the team awash with Tipperary senior panelists namely Clodagh Quirke, Eimear Loughman, Casey Hennessy and the great Cait Devane. Not forgetting Lorna Ryan All-Ireland winning corner back on the Tipperary Junior team or other key players such as Courtney Ryan, Cora Hennessy, Kate Ferncombe and Eimear Bourke.

But then there is also the thought that tomorrow in the County Camogie could we see the continuation of a familiar pattern across various sporting codes, where a team, in this case Clonoulty Rossmore, who have been beaten several times in finals by the same great champions, finally overcome the champions in the semi-final only to go on to the final and get beaten by a new team of rising stars, in this case Thurles Sarsfields? Will the weight of expectation weigh too heavily on Clonoulty’s shoulders and not allow them to express themselves and therefore open the door for the young Sars stars or will Clonoulty’s experience and craft see them rise to new heights and become county champions?

Although new to this stage the Thurles Sarsfields side have plenty of experience with players who have soldiered together up through the ranks winning the Junior A county title in 2017 before capturing the Intermediate final in 2020. While Karen Kennedy is their key player and captain its been a complete team effort that has got them to this stage. Emer Kennedy at full back and Emma Carey at 6 lead the defence. Ciara Cummins and Karen Kennedy form a great midfield partnership. Up front young minor stars Lucy Purcell and Caoimhe Stakelum have been in great scoring form along with Aoife Dwyer. The talent is certainly there but will it be enough to out smart and out hurl a Cait Devane led Clonoulty with the hunger and hurt of the last 4 years.

They say you have to ‘lose one to win one’! All in Clonoulty and Rossmore will feel it’s there time. The Blues will have other ideas. With a perfect blend of youth and experience and the trump card of once in a generation player that is Karen Kennedy, finals are for winning and they wont be coming out from town to make up numbers! Who will be given the job to mark Cait and Karen? Who will get off to the better start? Who will handle the occasion better and most importantly who will be crowned county champions? Don’t miss out on all the answers.

Come along tomorrow at 1pm to find out... the very best of luck to both of these superb camogie teams in tomorrow's FBD Insurance Tipperary County Senior Final
