Tipperary Camogie Launches the 2024 FBD Insurance Club Championship


Last Saturday in the County Camogie Grounds, the Ragg Tipperary Camogie were delighted to launch the FBD Insurance 2024 Minor & Adult Club Championships. This is the 4th year of the FBD Insurance’s sponsorship of both the Minor & Adult championship having first formulated a partnership with Tipperary Camogie in 2021. The sponsorship has seen the club championship in Tipperary go from strength to strength with more clubs fielding second adult teams and new clubs entering adult teams for the first time. This has led to a new Junior C championship which began last year. The standard of camogie, competitiveness of games and the interest and attendance at games has also flourished in recent years. 


There was a great buzz in the County Camogie Grounds on Saturday as player representatives from each camogie club stretching from Lorrha Dorrha to Carrick Swans were in attendance. Also present was Rena Ryan from FBD Insurance’s Clonmel branch. Rena spoke how ‘FBD Insurance is extremely proud of our ongoing sponsorship of the minor and adult camogie championships in the county. Tipperary camogie is going from strength to strength and it's wonderful to see the great number of teams participating in the various adult grades’. 


It’s been a great year for Tipperary Camogie to date and the next two Saturdays sees huge games for both our Junior and Senior teams. Rena was keen to ‘wish our county senior and junior teams every success in their All Ireland semi-finals against Armagh and Galway respectively’. Tipperary Camogie was represented on Saturday by Treasurer Aine Kiely O’Donnel who thanked FBD Insurance for their wonderful support of the Tipperary Club Championship.  2024 will see 33 clubs take part in the FBD Insurance Minor Championship while the Adult Championship consists of 6 different grades; Senior, Intermediate, Junior A, Junior B, Junior B2 and Junior C.  


FBD Insurance provide a whole range of insurance products for Tipperary customers with branches in Clonmel, Thurles and Nenagh. The 2024 FBD Insurance Adult Championship begins on the weekend of the 24th/25th August.
