In a repeat pairing of the Senior League final Clonoulty Rossmore and Eire Og Annacarty’s second teams met in last Sunday’s Junior B League Final. Unfortunately for Eire Og Annacarty it was also a repeat of the result with Clonoulty powering to an impressive win on a final scoreline of 3-15 to 1-04. Clonoulty Rossmore were on top from the off and led 2-06 to 0-01 at half time. Annacarty’s sole score coming from a 40m free from Miriam Butler as they were unable to break down an excellent Clonoulty defence led by Kate Ryan. In midfield Bernie Ryan and Orla Ryan dominated with Orla scoring 5 points. 

Annacarty were better in the second half. Sarah Burke sent a free into the danger area where Miriam Butler was on hand to flick it to the back of the net. Courtney Quinn added a fine point from play with 10 minutes remaining. The scores came much easier though for Clonoulty. Kayleigh Davern was excellent up front finishing with 1-04 while Maria Moloney and Ciara Quirke also raised green flags.

Two league titles in a week bodes very well for Clonoulty Rossmore while Annacarty will be pleased with plenty of game time for their players and know they have their county players to return come championship.
