4 Tipperary Teams in Action this Weekend
This weekend sees a vey busy weekend of Intercounty action with Tipperary’s U17, Minor, Junior and Senior teams all in action. Having lost to Galway in their opening game of the U17 All-Ireland development Tipperary will be hoping for a much improved performance and a result against Kilkenny this Sunday at home. Also on Sunday our minors make the long trip to Antrim to take on the home side. Tipperary who are currently Munster champions are also unbeaten so far in the championship with impressive wins over Kilkenny and Galway and will be hoping this can continue against Antrim. Saturday is a massive day for the Tipperary Juniors as they take on Cork in the VERY National Division 2b league. Having lost to Cork in their opening group game the team has gone on to beat Clare, Wexford and Galway before drawing with Kilkenny to qualify for the final. Both Tipperary and Cork are likely to be much changed from the sides that met in the opening game having had 4 other games to try out players and establish their strongest sides. A win for either side will be a massive boost heading into Munster and All-Ireland championships while both counties will be determined to get their hands on the first bit of silverware for the year. Also on Saturday the Tipperary senior team travel to Kilkenny to take on Kilkenny in round 4 of the Division 1 A league. Buoyed by their way over All-Ireland champions Cork in Cork 2 weeks ago Denis Kelly’s side will travel to Kilkenny with a renewed determination to pick up all 2 points in a bid to reach this year’s league final. It’s always very close when these two sides meet and Saturday’s clash is expected to be no different.
