Slieve Felim Raparees  and Newport Ballinhainch played out another real exciting game of camogie last Thursday evening in the replay of the U16 B final. Slieve Felim got off to a good start and managed to maintain the lead for all of the game despite the best efforts of an excellent Newport Ballinahinch side. Annie Phelan commanded her midfield position, while Sarah Brennan dominated in the half back line to help the Raparees to a 2:05 to 1:03 lead at half time. The goals coming from Alice Butler and Annie Phelan and with Caoimhe Troy scoring for Newport Ballinahinch. Newport Ballinahinch started strong in the 2nd half and held their opposition to just 2 points. A second goal from Caoimhe Troy narrowed Slieve Felim’s lead but they could never close the gap enough and Slieve Felim held on for a great win. Michelle Lee, Anna Carr and Brid Woodlock were others to get on the scoreboard for the winners while after the game captain Rachel Lee accepted the trophy on behalf of all the players who put in a great team performance to secure victory. Newport Ballinahinch contributed greatly to a really good game with another excellent team performance. Best on the day was Caoimhe Troy, Amy Healy, Ailin Kennedy, Clodagh Grimes, Aoibheann Collins and Deirdre Mcglinchey.
