Big Camogie week for Cashel CS & Ursuline Thurles!


Munster Senior A Semi-finals

This Tuesday January 17th, both Munster Senior A semi-finals take place with Tipperary Schools Cashel Community School and Ursuline College Thurles seeking places in the final. 

In Sarsfields outside field, at 12 noon, Ursuline take on Scoil na Troinoide, Doon. This Thurles team feature Tipp minors Kate Ferncombe and Aoife Bourke in midfield, Sarah Corcoran, Danielle Ryan and Lucy Purcell up front along with Alison Fitzgerald and Paula Quirke in their full back line. Tipp Senior panelist Lorna Ryan plays at centre back. Ursuline can also call on other Tipp minors Robyn Fitzgerald and Hazel Ryan. Louise Hickey (Kilkenny) plays at centre forward. Doon had a shock win over reigning Munster champs Cashel in Round 1. They are led by Tipp Senior panellist Annacarty’s Orla O’Brien with Heffernan cousins; Cora  Lucy, Jennifer and Shauna adding to this strong outfit. Limerick school Doon feature many players from Murroe and Ahane clubs also.


In the second semi-final, Cashel and Coachford College meet in a re-run of the 2022 Munster final pairing which Cashel won by 3 points. Cashel are led by Tipp Senior panellists Grace Moloney and Anna and Lillie Fahie. Tipp Minor panellists Anna Murphy, Ellen Browne Lisa Blair and Emma Horgan help form a strong line-out. Goalkeeper Mollie Gilmartin made 2 superb saves against Presentation Thurles which proved crucial to their quarter final win. This game takes place on Tuesday Jan. 17th at 12,30pm in Mahon, Cork Camogie Grounds. 


Munster Senior B Semi-final

St Mary’s Nenagh had a great win over Bandon today (Monday) in the Munster Senior B semi-final winning on a final scoreline of 6-07 to 3-06. They will now play Glanmire in the Munster Final.


Munster Senior D Semi-Final

St Marys Newport take on Kilmacthomas this Tuesday in a Kilmacthomas venue in their Munster semi. Newport had a good win in the quarter final v Carrignavar.


Munster Junior A Final

Colaiste Choilm v Ursuline College Thurles

Provisional fixture:  12noon, Jan. 29th in Mahon.

Ursuline Thurles are making a strong bid to retain their Munster and All Ireland A titles. They face an ‘away’ task in the final v Ballincollig’s Colaiste Choilm who defeated Coachford College in the semi-final. Ursuline had a good win over St Angela’s Waterford in their semi. The team features some of last years winning team with Sarsfields trio Caoimhe Stakelum Maria Ralph and Lucy Purcell providing scoring threats.
