Junior B Final Preview
The 2022 FBD Insurance Junior B final takes place this Sunday at 2.30pm in the County Camogie Grounds The Ragg between Moycarkey-Borris and Portroe. Having lost last year’s final Moycarkey-Borris have been many peoples favourites from the outset and have lived up to their favourites tag with an unbeaten run to the final where they have amassed some very impressive scoring. They topped group 1 with 4 wins from 4 against Cashel King Cormacs, Carrick Swans, Gortnahoe Glengoole and Portroe who finished second in the group. With the experience Catriona Walsh in good form, Emma O’Sullivan excellent from frees and play and a large crop of talented underage stars coming through such as Kate Ralph, Sarah Corcoran and Alisha Kearney they will certainly taking beating in Sunday’s final.
Without doubt Portroe are the team who are best equipped to defeat them. Despite losing to Moycarkey-Borris in the groups stages (1-11 to 0.-05) it was a very competitive game with Moycarkey not putting up a high score count like they did in other games. Portroe will bring everything to Sunday’s final including a huge work rate and determination. They had a very good win in the semi-final against a fancied Silvermines outfit. Their spine of the team is impressive with Nessa O’Driscoll in the goal, Tipp Junior player Aisling Sheedy at full back, former Tipperary senior player Tishy O’Halloran at 6, Claire O’Brien and Katie Ryan in midfield, Elaine Reidy at 11 and Geraldine O’Halloran in full-forward. In the semi-final Grace Mulrooney and Yasmid Madden were others to impress. A large crowd is expected for this clash as both clubs get behind their adult team in a bid to win some much coveted silverware.
