Munster Semi-final Replay
After 60 minutes of camogie in FBD Semple Stadium last Sunday Tipperary and Clare could not be separated. A late goal looked to have sealed victory for Clare but Grace O ‘Brien had the final say with the crucial equalising point. The sides will now meet again this Sunday in the TUS Gaelic Grounds Limerick at 11.30am
Munster U 16 A Final
All roads lead to Kilmallock this Friday evening where the Tipperary U16 A team will take on Cork in the Munster Final. John Ryan’s team have had an excellent start to the year with wins over Clare and Waterford to book their place in the Munster Final. Cork who are always a formidable side at this level are sure to pose the toughest competition to date. We wish the players and management the very best of luck and encourage as many as possible to travel and support them.
Junior A League Semi-finals
Holycross Ballycahill 4-08
Brian Borus 3-10
Saturday in Clonoulty saw Holycross Ballycahill and Brian Borus play in the Junior A League semi final.Holycross Ballycahill got off to a blistering start with 1-1 without reply in just 4 mins thanks to a Julie Brennan point and a goal from Sara Glesson. Brian Borus then opened their scoring with a point. Holycross Ballycahill goalkeeper Sarah Ryan was in great form and made some impressive clearances from the goal mouth. Holycross Ballycahill added to their tally with another goal and point from Linda Fanning. Brian Borus replied with 3 more points, however Linda Fanning was on target again when she fired the ball into the back of the Brian Borus net. Holycross Ballycahill continued to extend their lead with a goal from Julie Brennan and one point each from Linda Fanning, Roisin Comerford and Sara Gleeson. Brian Borus had a goal of their own thanks to a Helena Walsh strike while just before halftime thye added a point to their score. Half time score Holycross Ballycahill 4-6, Brian Borus 1-5.
The second half saw Fiona Judge add another point to the Holycross Ballycahill scoreline, however Brian Borus put in a brilliant second half performance to dominate the half and converted 2-5 with no reply. The goals coming from a Kacey Meehan 21 yard free and a Holly Fox strike. With 9 minutes remaining Lauren O'Brien scored a 45m for Brian Borus to tie the game but unfortunately for them this was to be their final score. The last few minutes saw both teams fighting hard for every ball. With the scoreline level Linda Fanning slotted the ball over the bar to give Holycross Ballycahill a one point win and a place in the Junior A League County Final. Templemore 0-08
Two early points in succession from Emma Cahalan and Emma Gavin put Kiladangan into an early lead which they held onto until the end despite the best efforts of Templemore. Two points from Ruth Butler either side of an Emma Gavin point meant that Kiladangan led by the smallest margin before Emma Gavin got the only crucial goal of the game. Another Ruth Butler point from a 45m was followed by a Paula Kelly point for the North Tipp side to leave the half time score 1-4 to 0-3. Ruth Butler displayed more excellent free taking in the second half but Kiladangan enjoyed a much better spread of scorers with Aobha Seymour, substitute Kealy Power and Emma Mulqueen all splitting the posts. Templemore finished the scoring with another Ruth Butler point but it was Kiladangan who march onto the final with a deserved 5 point victory.
