Tipperary Camogie Development Update by Grainne O’Leary County Development Officer
March has been a very busy month with all the county squads getting ready for their Munster games in April. Our U17s had a great victory over limerick in UL last week while our U16B squad have had a series of challenge games against Limerick, Kilkenny and Offaly. Our U15 A & B panels are also training well and have had challenges against Clare and Waterford and overcome both. Our 3 u14 squads are also in action every weekend and have played Offaly, Kilkenny and Cork over the past couple of weeks.
All management teams and girls are looking forward to April when our competitive games start , we wish them all the best .At present we also in the four divisions we have our 13s doing weekly training sessions and they will look forward to games in April also .
At club level the u12s have had their first blitz and great to see we will have 22 second u12 teams again this year which is fantastic and shows the system really works for their age group .Great to see two new clubs enter our u12 s this year , St Mary's Clonmel who started up last year and a new club in 2022 Moyne Templetuohy , we wish them both the very best. This weekend see’s the start of our under 10 girls with first matches taking place while the first of the u8 blitzes take place on the third weekend of April.
We are hosting a young whistlers course the end of March so shout out to all those budding referee enthusiasts, contact us and get involved. Don’t forget to follow our ‘club and county development page ‘on Facebook to keep up to date with all the latest camogie development news in Tipperary.
Here’s to a great summer of camogie, fun and friendships.
