Moycarkey 2-11 Holycross 2-05

Neighbours went up against each other on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in the Ragg County Camogie Grounds for the Under 14A final. There was alarge crowd in attendance with Eddie Kennedy officiating. Holycross’ Emily o Dwyer got them off to a blistering start with a 4th minute goal. Two further Holycross points including a free from midfield from Sophie Lee had Holycross in control.

Moycarkey stayed in touch with freetaking sharpshooter Kate Dowling scoring 2 frees. Moycarkey were glad of the water break to re-group but again Holycross restarted with another goal and 2 points with Moycarkey staying in touch with 3 more points.

What a great second half! Jane Corcoran scored a goal just 1 minute into the second half. A long ball in moments later resulted in another Moycarkey goal, a lead they would never lose. Holycross replied with a Sarah Quinlan point but Moycarkey now tagged on several points to win a cracking final full of skill.
